Scrushy art auction nets $672K at Philly auction

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The art collection of disgraced health care executive Richard Scrushy brought in more than $672,000 at auction, with proceeds going to his former company and its shareholders.The former HealthSouth CEO's collection was sold off Sunday by Freeman's auction house in Philadelphia.Alabama-based HealthSouth Corp. won a $2.9 billion civil judgment against Scrushy in 2009 after his conviction on federal corruption charges. An appeals court recently threw out two bribery convictions but let most of the corruption charges stand.Many of the 16 Scrushy pieces exceeded pre-auction estimates, including a Picasso print that sold for $97,000 (estimated value $50,000-$80,000); a Salvador Dali watercolor for $73,000 ($40,000-$60,000); and a Marc Chagall ink and wash on paper for $181,0...
