TRIESTE, Italy: Holland America Line has brought its ninth ship, the Oosterdam, back into service as post-Covid cruising regains its popularity following the Covid shut down.
The ship sailed with guests from Trieste, Italy, for the first time since the cruise industry halted operations in 2020.
Gus Antorcha, president of Holland America Line, said in a statement, "Each ship back to cruising means more team members back to sea, and we look forward to the restart being complete next month."
Since Holland America Line restarted cruising in July 2021, its ships, Eurodam, Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Nieuw Statendam, Noordam, Rotterdam and Zuiderdam have returned to service.
Holland America Line will complete the redeployment of its entire fleet by June.
